Royal Pine Deluxe

In the winter of 1984, Vacation® founder Marty Bell Senior serendipitously stumbled upon an idea to develop a premium, pine-infused fragrance. Unbeknownst to him, this would mark the beginning of a long-standing company tradition, and ultimately, the world’s finest pine-scented candle: Royal Pine Deluxe.

It was during the infamous “Great Miami Pine Shortage of ‘84” that Bell found himself without a suitable tree for his fledgling company’s upcoming White Tie Seasonal Soirée. Determined to preserve the holiday spirit, Bell appointed his trusted company SPF perfumer to develop a pine fragrance fitting for Vacation’s forthcoming office festivity. And what began as a solution to a local dilemma soon blossomed into a cherished company tradition: “The Great Pine Exchange," whereby employees would gift each other ever more impressive pine-scented candles year after year.

As the years progressed, so did the competitive spirit of the exchange. Employees began striving to outdo each other, infusing ever more elaborate seasonal notes into their creations—such as Competition-Grade Gingerbread House and Polished Mahogany Nutcracker. The result was a series of increasingly more innovative pine-scented candles, each more impressive than the last – until finally, decades later, the perfect candle was achieved.

Now, approaching the 40th anniversary of this beloved company tradition, we are pleased to publicly release the culmination of forty years of holiday pine perfection distilled into one, luxury-scented candle.
